Meadow Bridge is a small Appalachian town of 500 people in Fayette County, positioned along the Meadow River valley where mountain ridges create a natural corridor. US Route 19 runs through town, connecting to Beckley 25 miles south and Charleston 60 miles north, while State Route 41 provides east-west access to Rainelle and Rupert. The humid continental climate brings warm summers and snowy winters that can make mountain driving challenging. The town's name comes from an early 1900s bridge built to connect coal mining communities across the Meadow River.
