McLouth is a small Kansas farming town of 864 people located 30 miles northeast of Lawrence and 45 miles from Kansas City. Reach it via US Highway 59 from either direction, or take Highway 16 for east-west travel through Jefferson County. The restored 1920s grain elevator still operates seasonally and serves as a prominent prairie landmark.
