McKenney is a small Virginia town of about 500 people in Dinwiddie County, 45 miles south of Richmond on US 460. The main route is US 460 from Petersburg or Richmond via US 360 south. State Route 40 connects north-south through rural farmland and pine forests. The 1890 Norfolk and Western Railway depot still stands downtown.
