McIntosh is a tiny prairie town of 80 people in north-central South Dakota, about 15 miles from North Dakota. Reach it via US Highway 12 from Aberdeen or US 83 from Rapid City. The nearest real services are in Mobridge, 60 miles southeast. Despite its remote location in ranch country, McIntosh still maintains its own post office.
