McFarlan is a tiny Anson County community of 164 people, about 60 miles southeast of Charlotte via US 74. Access the town through Wadesboro or from US 52 to the east. Cheraw Municipal Airport across the South Carolina line serves private aircraft. The early 1900s brick post office remains the community's central landmark.
