McArthur is a small county seat in southeastern Ohio's forested hills, home to about 2,100 people. State Route 93 runs right through town, connecting north to Logan and south toward Jackson, while Route 56 heads east to Athens. Most visitors arrive via Route 93 from US Route 33 near Logan for Columbus access. The town hosts an annual Wild Turkey Festival each May with a popular turkey calling contest.
