Maywood is a small city in southeast LA County, surrounded by Bell, Huntington Park, and Commerce. I-710 runs along its eastern edge, while Route 42 (Slauson Avenue) cuts through the center. Most visitors use I-710 from downtown LA or Long Beach, with local trips on Atlantic Boulevard. LAX is 15 miles southwest. The city was the first in America to have an all-Latino city council.
