Maypearl is a small Ellis County town of about 900 people, located 35 miles south of Dallas via I-35E and Highway 287. The main route takes Exit 371B to Highway 287 south, then west on Farm Road 66. Mid-Way Regional Airport serves private aircraft nearby. The town was named by combining the names of early settler William T. Hawkins' daughters, May and Pearl.
