The scenic drive follows the Sevier River past irrigated fields surrounded by desert hills. Most visitors come from Richfield, 35 miles south, while locals make short trips north to Gunnison for services. The town sits at 5,200 feet with hot summers and snowy winters typical of high desert country. Its 1914 red brick LDS meetinghouse remains one of central Utah's best-preserved early Mormon chapels.
