Mayer is a small farming community 30 miles southwest of Minneapolis in Minnesota's Carver County. Highway 212 provides the main connection to the Twin Cities, while County Road 30 runs north-south through town. Most traffic consists of daily commuters heading to the metro area or visitors exploring the Minnesota River valley's rural landscape. The restored 1901 grain elevator downtown now serves as the town's heritage center.
