Mauston is a small city in south-central Wisconsin that sits right on Interstate 90/94, making it a convenient stop between Minneapolis and Milwaukee. Highway 82 runs north-south through town, connecting to Wisconsin Dells about 20 miles away. The area has typical Wisconsin farming country with rolling hills, and Volk Field military base operates nearby. The 1894 red sandstone courthouse with its clock tower is the town's most recognizable landmark.
