Matoaka is a tiny West Virginia community of 30 people in Mercer County's rolling hills. Reach it via county roads off US Route 460, accessible from I-77 exits at Princeton or Bluefield. The town sits near the Virginia border in classic Appalachian terrain. Named after Pocahontas, whose real name was Matoaka.
