Mathiston is a small Webster County town of 775 people along Highway 9 in north-central Mississippi. It's about 20 miles from Eupora and connects to State Route 15 for east-west travel. From Jackson, take I-55 north to Highway 82 west through Winona, then north on Highway 9 for about 90 minutes total. The town's old Illinois Central Railroad depot recalls its early days as a timber and farm shipping point.
