Massena is a small farming town in southwestern Iowa, about an hour from both Omaha and Des Moines. Highway 148 runs right through downtown, connecting to Interstate 80 and other major routes. The surrounding countryside is classic Iowa farmland with corn and soybean fields. The town's restored 1920s grain elevator still operates during harvest season.
