Mason is a tiny river town and county seat in western West Virginia, home to about 800 people where the Kanawha meets the Ohio River. Take Route 2 north from Huntington (45 miles) or west from Parkersburg (55 miles) for scenic river driving, or use I-77 to US 35 to Route 2 from Charleston. The 1881 courthouse with its ornate clock tower stands out as the town's architectural centerpiece.
