Marvell is a small Delta farming town in Phillips County, about 70 miles southwest of Memphis via Highway 49 from I-40. The town of 1,160 sits amid flat cotton and soybean fields typical of the Mississippi River floodplain. Highway 49 serves as the main route, connecting north to I-40 and south to Helena-West Helena. The restored 1936 courthouse annex now houses the community center and local museum.
