Martinton is a small farming town in eastern Illinois, 90 miles south of Chicago along Interstate 57. Visitors typically exit I-57 at Exit 283 and head west on local roads. The area is classic Midwest prairie with endless corn and soybean fields. Most traffic uses I-57 for longer trips to Chicago or Champaign-Urbana, while locals take county roads between farming communities. The town's 1890s grain elevator still operates and towers over the flat landscape.
