Marlinton is a small mountain town in central West Virginia that serves as the Pocahontas County seat. Located along US Route 219, it's about 60 miles south of Elkins and 40 miles north of Lewisburg. The town sits in prime Appalachian outdoor recreation territory, with the Monongahela National Forest nearby. The 78-mile Greenbrier River Trail, one of the state's premier rail-trails, runs right through town.
