Marklesburg is a tiny Huntingdon County community of 291 people in central Pennsylvania's Appalachian foothills. US Route 22 provides the main access, running about 30 miles east from Altoona and 60 miles west from Harrisburg, while State Route 26 handles north-south traffic. Altoona Blair County Airport sits 25 miles southwest via US-22. The old Pennsylvania Railroad grade still cuts through town as a reminder of its rail heritage.
