Marcus is a tiny farming community of 242 people in northeastern Washington, just 15 miles from Canada via State Route 25. The 90-mile drive from Spokane follows US-2 west to Kettle Falls, then north along the Columbia River through forested hills. Most visitors are either crossing the border or exploring the Kettle River area, with limited services available locally. The town operates one of Washington's last cable ferries across the Columbia River.
