Mapleton is a farming town of 1,700 people in south-central Minnesota, about 15 miles southwest of Mankato via Highway 22. The main route connects to Highway 169 for trips to the Twin Cities, while Highway 30 provides access from Blue Earth. The working grain elevator along the railroad tracks still defines this agricultural community.
