Maple Valley is a suburban community of 28,000 in the Cascade foothills, 25 miles southeast of Seattle. Most visitors take I-405 to SR-169 south or I-90 east to I-18 west. The main drag is SR-169 (Maple Valley Highway), connecting north to Renton and south toward rural areas. Lake Wilderness Park offers a rare natural swimming beach just minutes from major highways.
