Manter is a tiny farming community in far southwestern Kansas, home to 142 people living among endless wheat fields. Take US-160 west from Garden City for the main route, or continue west to Colorado. The town sits along the old Santa Fe Trail in cattle and grain country. Look for the tall red grain silos beside the railroad tracks.
