Mansfield is a small Arkansas River valley town of 1,200 people in Scott County, reached via Highway 96 from I-40 near Ozark. The area sits where river bottomland meets rolling hills, with Highway 96 providing the main east-west route and US 71 running north-south about 10 miles west toward Fort Smith. The town hosts an annual Polk Salad Festival celebrating the wild edible green that grows in the local river bottoms.
