Manhattan is a small Illinois city about 45 miles southwest of Chicago, reached via I-55 to Route 52. The town of 11,000 sits on flat prairie land with typical Midwest weather. Route 52 runs east-west through town while Route 113 provides north-south access. Manhattan calls itself the "Pumpkin Capital of the World" and hosts a major pumpkin festival each October.
