Manele is a tiny harbor settlement on Lanai's south shore, reachable only by ferry from Maui or flights to Lanai Airport (3 miles away). The 45-minute ferry ride from Lahaina is the most common route, docking right at Manele Harbor. Manele Road connects the harbor to Lanai City and the airport in about 10 minutes. The protected bay is famous for spinner dolphins that regularly rest in its shallow waters during the day.
