Mancos is a small farming town in southwestern Colorado that serves as a gateway to Mesa Verde National Park, just eight miles away. Located at the intersection of US Highways 160 and 184, it's 24 miles west of Durango and 14 miles east of Cortez. The town sits at 7,000 feet in high desert country along the Dolores River. Mancos runs the oldest continuous high school rodeo program in Colorado, dating to 1949.
