Manchester is a small city of 2,500 people in southeastern Michigan, about 20 miles southwest of Ann Arbor via US-12 west to M-52 south. The main route is Highway M-52, which connects to I-94 near Chelsea for longer trips. The city sits in rolling farmland along the River Raisin, with downtown businesses clustered around the M-52 corridor. Manchester hosts the annual Chicken Broil each July, where volunteers grill thousands of half-chickens over open fires.
