Manawa is a small Wisconsin city of 1,300 people in Waupaca County, reached via Highway 22 from either Weyauwega or New London. The town sits along the Little Wolf River in central Wisconsin's lake country. Most visitors arrive from Green Bay via Highway 54 west to New London, then Highway 22 southwest, or from the Twin Cities area using Highway 10 east through Stevens Point. The city's name comes from the Menominee word meaning "where the spirits walk."
