Malta Bend is a small Missouri River town of about 200 people in Saline County, reached via Highway 41 from I-70 near Marshall. The drive passes through rolling farmland typical of west-central Missouri. Most visitors come from Marshall (15 miles) or Kansas City (90 minutes via I-70). The town's 1920s grain elevator remains a visible landmark from the highway.
