Malone is a small Florida Panhandle town of 2,000 people in Jackson County's pine country. Highway 2 runs right through town, connecting east to Marianna and west toward Alabama, while State Road 71 links south to I-10. The 1939 red brick Malone School building, now a community center, remains the town's most recognizable landmark along the main highway.
