Malden is a small agricultural city in Missouri's Bootheel, that southeastern panhandle extending toward Arkansas. Reach it via Highway 25 from Interstate 55 at Bloomfield, about 15 miles west, or from Blytheville, Arkansas, 25 miles south. The surrounding Mississippi River delta creates flat farmland stretching in every direction, with cotton fields and rice paddies dominating the landscape. Malden Regional Airport sits just south of town with a 3,200-foot paved runway.
