Maiden Rock is a tiny riverside community of 85 people perched on Mississippi River bluffs in Pierce County. Highway 35 provides access along the Great River Road, with most visitors coming from Red Wing (15 miles north) or the Twin Cities via Highway 61. The 400-foot limestone bluff that gives the town its name towers directly behind the village.
