Mahaffey is a tiny Pennsylvania borough of about 300 people tucked into Clearfield County's forested hills. Most visitors take I-80 to Exit 111, then Route 219 north and local roads for the final 15 miles. Route 729 runs right through town as the main drag, connecting to Curwensville and other county roads. The municipal building doubles as the volunteer fire station and is painted bright red, making it the most visible landmark as you drive through.
