Madison is a small Kansas farming town of about 925 people, located 50 miles southwest of Emporia on US Highway 96. Most visitors arrive via US 96 or Kansas Highway 99 from the north. The town sits in Greenwood County's rolling prairie, serving local ranchers and grain farmers. Its 1884 limestone courthouse with a distinctive clock tower still dominates the town square.
