Mabel is a small farming town of 730 people in southeastern Minnesota's bluff country, about 15 miles from Decorah, Iowa. Highway 44 runs through town and connects to Highway 52 near Preston, the main route from Rochester or the Twin Cities. The town hosts Steam Engine Days each Labor Day weekend, featuring vintage steam-powered machinery demonstrations.
