Lyons is a tiny borough in Berks County, about 15 miles northwest of Reading via Route 222 north to Route 73 west. Long-distance travelers use I-78 to Route 61 north, then Route 73 west. The 466 residents live among cornfields and farms in classic Pennsylvania Dutch country. Reading Regional Airport is 20 miles southeast. The town's 1886 one-room schoolhouse still stands as a piece of local history.
