Lyford is a small agricultural town in the Rio Grande Valley, about 15 miles north of Harlingen via US Highway 77. The area's subtropical climate supports cotton and citrus farming year-round. The restored railroad depot downtown recalls the community's transportation history along the old Missouri Pacific line.
