Lyerly is a small mountain town of 525 people in northwest Georgia's Chattooga County. US Highway 27 runs right through town, connecting it to Rome (25 miles south) and the Tennessee border. Most visitors arrive via US 27 from I-75 or while exploring the Appalachian foothills. The town still uses a traditional fire bell to summon its volunteer firefighters.
