Lula sits in northeast Georgia's foothills about 60 miles from Atlanta, accessible via I-985 from the south or US-129 from the north. The town hugs Lake Lanier's shores where rolling Piedmont terrain meets the southern Appalachians. Lee Gilmer Memorial Airport provides general aviation access just south of town. Each October, the Georgia Mountain Moonshine Cruiz-In transforms Main Street into a showcase of classic automobiles.
