Lucas is a tiny Ohio farming community of 593 people, about 15 miles northeast of Mansfield via Route 39. Most traffic comes from Mansfield residents making the 20-minute drive through rolling countryside. The village sits near Malabar Farm State Park, the former estate of Pulitzer Prize-winning author Louis Bromfield, where Humphrey Bogart and Lauren Bacall were married in 1945.
