Lucama is a small railroad town in Wilson County, about 50 miles east of Raleigh and 15 miles south of Rocky Mount via US Highway 301. The main routes are US 301 north-south and State Route 581 east-west, with Interstate 95 accessible about 10 miles west. The town's restored early 1900s railroad depot still stands as a testament to its origins as an Atlantic Coast Line Railroad stop.
