Lovington is a farming town of about 1,000 people in central Illinois, 20 miles southeast of Decatur via Route 32. Most visitors arrive on Route 32 from Decatur or Route 121 from Mattoon, with longer trips typically routing through Decatur on Interstate 72. The town's restored 1904 opera house still hosts live theater performances.
