Lorton is a tiny farming town of 72 people in southeastern Nebraska, reached via Highway 50 about 15 miles west of Nebraska City. The closest major city access is from Omaha, 45 miles north via Highway 75. The community preserves a one-room schoolhouse from 1888 that represents Nebraska's pioneer educational history.
