Loretto is a small city of about 800 people in western Hennepin County, roughly 25 miles from Minneapolis. Most visitors drive Highway 55 to County Road 19, or take County Road 6 west from the northwest suburbs. The rural community sits among farmland and woods along the Crow River, maintaining its agricultural character despite metro area growth. The 1878 St. Boni Catholic Church, with its Gothic Revival spires, marks the town center.
