Longport is a tiny beach town at the southern end of Absecon Island, just south of Atlantic City. Take Garden State Parkway Exit 29 to Route 109 east, or drive south on Atlantic Avenue from Atlantic City. The 900-resident borough sits between the Atlantic Ocean and Great Egg Harbor Bay, connected by bridges to the mainland. It's known for having some of New Jersey's strictest building codes that preserve its low-rise, traditional shore character.
