Long View is a small city in western North Carolina's Catawba County, halfway between Charlotte and the mountains. Interstate 40 runs right through town, making it an easy 45-minute drive from Charlotte or an hour and a quarter to Asheville. Highway 321 connects north to Hickory and south toward Gastonia. Hickory Regional Airport is about 15 miles away for regional flights. The town hosts an annual pottery festival celebrating the area's centuries-old folk pottery tradition.
