Long Lake, a small city of 1,728 residents, sits about 20 miles west of Minneapolis along Highway 12 in Hennepin County. The town clusters around its namesake lake, with most visitors arriving via Highway 12 from I-494 or County Road 6 from Plymouth and Wayzata. Crystal Airport is just a few miles southeast. The city hall still operates from the original 1896 red brick schoolhouse building.
