Lone Star is a small East Texas town of about 1,500 people located 20 miles southwest of Marshall on US Highway 259. The community sits among pine forests and rolling pastureland typical of Morris County's rural landscape. Most visitors arrive via US 259 or State Highway 43, with Interstate 20 about 25 miles south providing connections to Dallas and Shreveport. The town flies one of the region's largest Texas flags from a prominent roadside flagpole.
