Loco is a tiny Oklahoma town of about 94 people in Stephens County, accessible via State Highway 53 southeast of Duncan. Most visitors arrive from Oklahoma City (80 miles north via I-35 and local highways) or from Texas via US-75. The community sits in classic Oklahoma prairie country with red soil and scattered oaks. Loco got its memorable name when a railroad engineer supposedly went "loco" trying to navigate the difficult terrain during the town's early days.
